When the scouts return with goodies, the army will then follow them back to the source of the food, and this is how you end up with an ant infestation in the office. Just a few crumbs can keep a large number of ants busy for a good length of time. This is why it is so important to make sure employees know to sweep the lunch and lunch prep area at the end of each business day. You also want to make sure they are wiping down the counters after use.
